BROWNIE POMEROY, Obituary

Brownie Pauline Pomeroy, 97, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at a Billings rest home of natural causes.

Viewing is 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Havre with Pastor Steve Flatau officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship will be held at the Assembly of God Church after the burial.

Memorials in Brownie's honor may be made to St. John's Lutheran Home; 3940 Rimrock Road; Billings, MT 59102.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Brownie was born Aug. 1, 1904, to Benjamin Franklin and Bertha Mae (Rinker) Blue in Peru, Ind. In 1917, they moved to Richey, where Brownie attended country school on Litz Creek.

On Dec. 6, 1921, she was united in marriage to Earl B. Pomeroy in Glendive. They lived on the Pomeroy and Blue homesteads near Richey and then moved back to Peru, Ind. In 1928, they moved back to Montana and in 1933 they moved to Havre, where Brownie resided until Dec. 6, 1998, when she moved to Billings to be near family.

Brownie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl Pomeroy, and two sisters, Besse and Blanche.

She is survived by her children, Earl M. Pomeroy of Chester, Lyndon (Lenore) Pomeroy of Billings, Laverne L. (Betty) Pomeroy of Carmichael, Calif., Tivola P. (Al) Liedle of Billings; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
