Sixth-grade choir to perform

The Havre Middle School assembly room will be ringing with the sounds of the juke box Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as the sixth-grade choir, select vocal ensembles and special guests sing songs from the '50s and '60s.

The title of the program is "Jukebox Saturday Night" and features rock 'n' roll songs. The sixth-grade choir students will sing and dance to songs like "Happy Days/Making Our Dreams Come True" from the TV series "Laverne and Shirley."

Select ensembles will also perform. The Troubadours seventh-grade boys group will sing the Beach Boys hit "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" and Jerry Lee Lewis' hit "Great Balls of Fire." The Treble-Aires girls group will perform a medley of tunes including "One Fine Day," "My Guy," "Baby Love," and "Breakin' Up Is Hard To Do." The Spotlighters eighth-grade mixed group will sing a medley featuring 15 classic Beatles tunes.

The four eighth-grade students who just returned from singing in the Northwest Division Honor Choir in Tacoma, Wash., will perform one of their honor choir songs. Also, several students and their parents will be featured in duets.

The public is welcome. There is no admission fee.
