Kyle Sheppard, a standout for the 2001 state Class A runner-up Havre Northstars, has committed to play baseball at Miles Community College.
Sheppard batted .433 for the season with 15 doubles, 16 triples and a slugging percentage of .649.
He struck out only 10 times in 245 at bats with Havre, and finished with a 7-6 record on the mound.
"Kyle is a terrific baseball player that plays the game with an intensity that cannot be taught," Pioneers head coach Rob Bishop said. "We are looking forward to the leadership and other intangibles he will bring to our program."
The Northstars finished the season 49-19. The Pioneers ended 33-16 and earned the MonDak regular season and tournament championships.
