Wanda Mork has pulled out of the race for Hill County treasurer and assessor.
Mork, a Republican, was campaigning against two-term Democratic incumbent Carrie Dickson.
Mork has been a deputy treasurer/assessor in the office for four years.
"Because of family obligations I don't feel at this time I am able to give the position the time and effort it would require," she said. "I want what is best for the county and taxpayer."
Mork's name will still be on the ballot in November, said Betty Williams, deputy election administrator for Hill County.
Anyone interested in the treasurer/assessor position could still file as a write-in candidate until Oct. 21, Williams said.
Mork said she is unsure if she would accept the position if she's voted in.
