Following an exciting and successful weekend, a pair of Montana State University-Northern volleyball players have earned the weekly volleyball awards for the Frontier Conference.
Sarah Bruce won the conference's player of the week award, while Hannah Nutting earned setter of the week honors for their role in the Skylights win over Westminster on Friday and their upset win over 23rd ranked, conference leading University of Montana-Western.
Bruce, a junior from Columbus, totaled 18 kills, 29 digs, 5 aces and 5 blocks on the weekend. She tallied career highs against Westminster with 12 kills and five blocks. Bruce also passed a near flawless 96 percent and committed just three hitting errors in the two matches.
Nutting, a sophomore from Billings, finished with 97 assists in the two matches to go with eight aces and 25 digs. She also had a career high of five blocks in the win over Westminster.
Northern, 11-18 overall and 3-9 in the Frontier Conference, will travel to Carroll College on Friday and Rocky Mountain College on Saturday for a pair of conference matches.
