Area residents Jim and Betty Clark are the new owners of the Sears retail dealer store in the Holiday Village Shopping Center in Havre. The Clarks completed a week of training at the Sears suburban Chicago headquarters to prepare for assuming ownership of the store. They took ownership on Dec. 16.
The previous owners were Mark and Peggy Nivens. Betty Clark is the admissions coordinator at Montana State University-Northern. Jim Clark worked for the Nivenses until a year ago and then worked for the management company at the shopping center.
The Sears store is open now but the Clarks will have a grand opening in February. Tanner Ozburn and Jean Grandberg are working with Jim Clark in the store. Steve Spangler, Jamee Clark and Justin Horning are working part time.
The Havre store is one of more than 780 authorized retail dealer stores opened since June 1993. "Sears is committed to the customers in this area," Sue Sorlien, president of the Sears Dealer Store program, said in a press release.
