EVA SEVERSON, Obituary

CHINOOK Eva F. Severson, 91, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at a Havre care center due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the American Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

Eva was born in Montier, Mo., to Robert D. and Adele (Denaeyer) Doughten on Dec. 17, 1910. She attended schools in Birch Tree, Mo., and graduated in 1928. She worked for Neiman-Marcus, Famous & Barr as clerk of the notion's counter, and as a salesperson for Three Sisters Clothing Store in St. Louis.

Eva married Frank Isabell in 1929 in St. Louis, and they lived in Cabool, Willow Springs and Springfield, Mo. They later divorced and she moved to Montana in 1949.

Eva married Orval Severson in 1967 at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Eva owned and operated the Tastee Bite Cafe, Grill Cafe, and worked for the Farmers Union Oil Company in Chinook. She retired in 1972.

Eva was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles "Bud" Isabell; husband, Orval Severson; one grandchild; three brothers.

Severson is survived by her sons, Don Isabell of Kealakekua, Hawaii, Jerry Isabell of Gahanna, Ohio; brother, Leon Doughten of Chinook; stepchildren, Hallie Frost and Doug Severson, both of Great Falls, Janice Putman of Iowa Park, Texas, Gary Severson of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the American Lutheran Church.
