The Harlem Wildcats were riding a hot streak until they traveled to Wolf Point Friday night, but rebounded Saturday with a win against Malta.
The previously undefeated Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season 70-67 on the road in Wolf Point Friday, but sent a message to the Mustangs on Saturday, defeating Malta 65-46 at home.
Meanwhile, the Havre Blue Ponies, who face Harlem at home tonight at 7:30, have had some tough luck lately running into the top-ranked Browning Indians and CMR Rustlers in the last two weeks. The Ponies lost 70-45 to CMR Thursday before having the rest of the weekend off.
The Ponies lost to the Wildcats Dec. 14, 73-39.
Havre will have to contend with numerous tough players for Harlem, including Colby Fetter, Wes Main, Adam Bigby, Chris Cole and Kevin Bigby. The Ponies, who will be at full strength tonight, have won two big games in the last two weeks, including a win in overtime against Malta on Jan. 5.
After tonight's game with Harlem, the Ponies will travel to Glasgow. The Ponies lost to Glasgow at home on Dec. 15, but played the Scotties close for three quarters.
The Wildcats have another tough road game on Saturday against Poplar.
