Skylights skid continues with loss to Bulldogs

Despite taking an 11-point lead into the half, the Montana State University-Northern Skylights only scored 16 points in the second half.

The Skylights made just 4 of 24 shots from the field in the second half for 16.7 percent, continuing the slide the Skylights (15-5, 2-3) have been on in the past two weeks. Western, which moved to the top of the Frontier standings with the 67-59 win, remained undefeated in conference play at 6-0 and 19-3 overall.

Tamecia Watkins had a double-double for Northern with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Watkins also had four assists and one steal on the game. Paula Owens led the Skylights with 17 points and Nichole Neill had 11.

Vanika Dickerson topped all scorers with 20 points for Western. Bobbi Suhr added 13 and Karly Tait 11.

Conference play continues for the Lights and Skylights on Thursday at home against Carroll. Rocky will travel to Havre on Saturday.
