Hill County spelling bee set

Local schools are preparing to hold their spelling bees in preparation for the county bee on March 5, and county home-school students are invited to attend.

Deputy County Superinten-dent of Schools Linda Gerhart said county schools have received the information they need to prepare their school bees, which will qualify students to compete in the county bee.

The county bee will start at 9:30 a.m. at Havre Middle School.

The winner of the county bee will advance to state competition.

The winner of the state bee will advance to national competition.

Any home-school students in fifth through eighth grade who wish to compete in the county bee need to contact the county superintendent's office at 265-5481, ext. 250, by Feb. 5.
