LOMA Cecil "Bud" Page Heidelbaugh Jr., 73, passed away at a Fort Benton medical center Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fort Benton Elementary auditorium. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery.
Bud was born Oct. 14, 1928, to
Cecil and Florence Heidelbaugh. He grew up in Great Falls, Fairfield and Fort Benton. Bud lost vision in his right eye when he saved his teacher's life during a high school fire in 1945. He graduated from Fort Benton High School.
After high school, Bud farmed for many years in both Big Sandy and Loma. He built and ran several businesses during his life that included the Squirt Bottling Company in Great Falls, Big Sky Aerial Photo, which sold aerial photographs all over the Northwest. he also started and ran the Loma Cafe for several years and most recently the Ace High Casino and 3 Rivers Canoes.
He was a private pilot and had been flying for almost 40 years. He also was a member of the Fort Benton Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Renee) Heidelbaugh of Richmond, Va., Tim (Jackie) Heidelbaugh of Wenatchee, Wash., Jim (Mary) Heidelbaugh of Helena, and Roger (Diane) Heidelbaugh of Ashland, Pa.; daughter, Connie (Jerry) Overmier of Billings; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Loma Memorial Hall.
Benton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
