Chinook, Harlem, Chester send 11 wrestlers

The Conrad Cowboys dominated the Northern B-C Divisional Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, qualifying 13 wrestlers for the state tournament in Billings Friday and Saturday.

Among the 13 wrestlers who qualified for the Cowboys were six individual champions Justin Jones (98 pounds), Caleb Lockyer (105 pounds), Ross Johnson (112 pounds), Zach Lockyer (135 pounds), Aaron Jones (160 pounds), and Danny Jones (171 pounds).

Behind Conrad at 248 points was Malta with 127. The host team, Cut Bank, finished third with 112 points. Chinook placed fifth with 101 points.

Topping the Beeters with individual titles are Howie Miller (130 pounds) and Thomas Maddox (152 pounds).

Jeremy Painter (125 pounds) came away with a second-place finish for Chinook, with Clayton Parsons (105 pounds), Eric Hinebauch (160 pounds), and Danny Skoyen (189 pounds) each taking third place. Ben Parsons (140 pounds) added a fourth-place finish.

Howie Miller got the quick pin award for the tournament.

Also placing in the top four were Tom Cochran, A.J. Cochran and Donald Bear from Harlem, and John Wicks from Chester. Tom Cochran placed fourth at 135 pounds, A.J. Cochran placed third at 140 pounds, and Bear was fourth at heavyweight for Harlem. Wicks, at 189 pounds, placed fourth for Chester.

The top four wrestlers from each weight class advance to the state tournament.
