RUSSEL MAXFIELD, Obituary

Russel Benton Maxfield, 47, Cut Bank, a baker, died Friday at his home of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Day Funeral Home.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church in Havre. He was a Boy Scout as a youth.

Russel was born and raised in Havre. He graduated from Havre High School in 1972.

He moved to Bremerton, Wash., where he was a baker at Safeway. He later was bakery manager at Gay's Bakery and at Frenz Bakery, both in Tacoma, Wash. He returned to Havre in 2000 and worked at Gary and Leo's IGA bakery. He most recently worked for Eddies Bread delivery in Glacier County.

He loved tinkering with cars, woodworking and mechanical work.

Russel was preceded in death by his father, Steve Maxfield.

Survivors include his mother, Irene Prince of Surprise, Ariz.; sister, Cheryl Sorensen of Tacoma, Wash.; brother, Gary Maxfield of Olympia, Wash.; two nephews and a niece; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
