Bantam team crushes Glasgow

The Havre Koefod Bantams hockey team traveled to eastern end of the state last weekend, playing in a tournament in Sidney.

While the first game for the Havre team started with a bang it defeated Glasgow 12-3 the next two didn't quite produce the same result. Havre was shut out in the second game 7-0 and edged out Dickinson 5-4 in overtime in the third and final game.

Josh Morse got things rolling early for the Bantams with a goal, assisted by Mark Larson. Ben Erickson followed with another score, with Tyson Anderson adding the assist. Morse, Anderson and Larson had the next three scores, all unassisted. For Havre's sixth goal of the game, Larson and Morse combined on the score. Anderson scored the Bantams' seventh goal with the assist going to Brittany Kemmer.

Scott Ladenburg joined the scoring parade, combining with Morse for the goal. Kemmer got the ninth goal for Havre with Anderson and Erickson combining for the assist. Erickson and Anderson combined for the next two goals, with Morse scoring the final goal. Michelle Armstrong had the assist on Morse's final score.

Goalie Josh Strissel had five saves in the game.

Morse had a hat trick in the game and was named most valuable player for his efforts. Anderson got the playmaker award for his three assists.

The next game for Havre was against Richland. Larson had 31 saves in the game, but it was not enough as the Rangers shut out Havre 7-0.

Andy Hanson received the Iron Man Award for the game.

Ending the tournament in a thrilling way, the Bantam team skated past Dickinson 5-4 in overtime.

Strissel, Anderson, Hanson and Erickson each scored goals in regulation, tying the game at four and sending it into overtime. With 47 seconds left in overtime, Anderson scored the winning goal to lift Havre over the Flames 5-4.

Austin Small and Strissel had the two assists in the game.

Larson, with 33 saves as goalie, received the Iron Man Award for the game.

The next games for the Koefod Bantam team will be in Bozeman. Havre will play three games against Bozeman, with the first beginning Saturday.
