PHOENIX Steven Robert Jasinski, 45, Phoenix, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at his home in Phoenix of Lou Gehrig's disease.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday.
Steve was born in St. Paul, Minn. He moved to Havre as a child with his parents and spent his childhood years in Havre. He graduated from St. Jude/Havre Central Junior High and Havre High School. He also graduated from Northern Montana College and went on to receive his master's degree at Arizona State University.
For the past 15 years, Steve worked at Buckeye Elementary School District as a teacher, coach, vice principal, principal and administrator. He loved all the kids and they loved him.
Steve loved golfing, football, basketball, softball, traveling, going to the casino, movies, hiking, but mostly, Steve loved life.
Steve was a member of the Lion's Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Royce and William R. Jasinski, and cousin Tom Royce.
Survivors include his wife, Laurel Jasinski of Phoenix; children, Scott Stremcha and Jami Stremcha of Phoenix; parents, Bill and Carol Jasinski of Billings; brothers, Larry Jasinski of Phoenix, Len Jasinski of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Dan Jasinski of Edwards Air Force Base in California; sisters, Barb Ruff of Trout Creek, Patti Barton of Havre, Julie Myers of Billings; grandmothers, Pauline Jasinski of St. Paul, Minn., and Olive Royce of Pine City, Minn.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
