BARNESVILLE, Minn. Alene Ellefson, 86, of Barnesville, Minn., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at a Barnesville rest home.
Funeral service was Saturday in St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery, Prairie View Township, Minn.
Alene was born Nov. 17, 1915, near Barnesville to Leo and Theoline (Kragrud) Kenfield. She attended school in Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1932.
She married Kermit C. Ellefson on Sept. 3, 1935, in Breckenridge, Minn. They made their home in Moorhead and Fergus Falls, before moving to Minneapolis in 1941. She worked as a waitress for a short time. She spent 40 years working for Dr. Brakke in his office in Minneapolis. In 1998, she moved to the Herman Dunham home near Barnesville. In January 1999, she became a resident of the Barnesville Good Samaritan Center.
Alene enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit C. Ellefson in 1979, and an infant sister.
Survivors include several farm families, nieces and nephews.
Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville was in charge of arrangements.
