    BILLINGS (AP) — A judicial oversight board wants a Montana judge disciplined for saying a 14-year-old rape victim was "older than her chronological age" and sentencing her rapist to just one month in prison.   • Gardipee trial in baby death moved to April

    The trial of a woman accused of brutally beating an 11-month-old baby to death in October has been moved back two months. Cecilia Rose Gardipee, 22, had been scheduled to go on trial Feb. 11 on charges of assault and second-degree murder in the death of Kaidynce Small, who died Oct. 21, 11 days before his first birthday. Gardipee filed an unopposed motion to delay the trial, saying X-rays associated with an autopsy of the baby had not yet been received.   • Montana graduation rates rise to 84 percent

    HELENA (AP) — The Office of Public Instruction says Montana's high school graduation rate has risen slightly to 84.4 percent. The numbers are from the 2012-2013 school year and marked an improvement from the 83.9 percent graduation rate a year earlier. It is the third consecutive year in which the graduation rate has risen. Superintendent Denise Juneau also said Tuesday that the dropout rate fell from 4.1 percent in the 2011-2012 school year to 3.6 percent last year.     WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate Foreign Relations committee has easily approved President Barack Obama's nomination of veteran Sen. Max Baucus to become ambassador to China. Baucus is a Montana Democrat and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees trade issues. The 72-year-old was first elected to the Senate in 1978.     Franklin "Frank" Glunz, 77, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in Irmo S.C. Frank was born in Glasgow, Mont. in 1936, son of the late Robert I. and Lula V. (Waagen) Gluz. The family moved to Havre in 1942. He graduated from Havre Central High School in 1955 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.     Later this week or early next week, representatives of Great West Engineering of Billings will be walking along the Bullhook to survey how structurally sound the infrastructure is.     A Havre woman facing charges including threatening or trying to shoot her husband with his own gun remains in Hill County jail this morning on $50,000 bond for breaking probation and another $50,000 on pending drug charges after a judge denied a motion to reduce that bond.     Shauna Albrecht has resigned as executive director of the Montana State University-Northern Alumni Foundation. Damon Bricker, campaign co-chair of the foundation, said Albrecht resigned Friday, but did not know the details of why she resigned. “The board accepted her resignation, and we’ve started a national search for a new director,” Bricker said.
