    Pauline Timmons Saenger, formerly of Havre, passed away March 4, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nev. at the age of 94. Se was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Havre to R.C. "Doc Timmons, Hill County sheriff for 44 years, and Clara Garske Timmons. She was married to James R. Saenger, who preceded her in death in 1976. No funeral services are planned.... Full story

  • City Council OKs Williams Syndrome walk

    City Council Monday night voted in favor of the first Williams Syndrome walk in Montana being held in Havre. At the short meeting, city council unanimously voted in favor of allowing the Support Williams Syndrome Awareness Walk to take place on May 4. Stewart and Dottie Wilson are organizing the event in honor of their daughter, Keeley, who was born with Williams Syndrome. May is Williams Syndrome Awareness month.   • Still no details released on death of Havre man in Idaho

    Idaho law enforcement still is investigating the death of a Havre man, with a spokesperson saying Monday that no details are being released at this point. Kendall Quinnell’s body was found Sept. 8 in Shoshone Park in the Idaho Panhandle off Interstate 90, east of Kellogg, Idaho. Friends have told members of his family that he was in Missoula, 110 miles east of the park, Sept. 7.     At the end of a 35-minute hearing Monday in federal court in Great Falls, the judge refused to appoint new counsel for a woman accused of embezzling federal money while head of the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation clinic. Instead, he ordered her to represent herself in the April 11 trial.     The Montana Human Rights Commission ruling that made Hill and Blaine counties liable for the death of A.J. Longsoldier has been thrown out by a District Court judge in Helena. The commission’s ruling would have required the counties to pay $1.35 million to the Longsoldier estate after the organization found those entities at fault for the 18-year-old’s death in November 2009.
