  • Invest in America, not in more war

    Updated Mar 31, 2015

Jon Tester Seems like every time I turn on the TV, I see another pundit or politician calling for greater American military intervention in response to ISIS, or heading to war with Iran, or cleaning up after some other conflict around the world. While these threats are real and must be taken seriously, America can no longer afford to go it alone. We spend billions overseas every year and put thousands of young American men and women in harm’s way. And we pay for it by taking out new loans — mostly from foreign countries lik...

    Updated Mar 31, 2015

Editor: The Montana Senate last week voted to close Montana Developmental Center in Boulder, largely reacting to hysteria generated by Disability Rights Montana, the decision is wrong for several reasons, including the fact that a number of clients can safely be placed in no other Montana institution, and it will devastate Boulder and Jefferson County economically and socially. The complaint is that the culture at MDC will never change. It can change, and the reason that I say this is that I saw it happen myself at another...
