  • Send your legislators a message: get it done

    Updated Mar 31, 2017

This week we learned Montana leads the nation in job growth. Our unemployment rate is nearing historic lows while more Montanans are at work than ever. And we have a stable business climate that allows both our small and large businesses in communities across the state to grow, expand, and create more good paying jobs. In the last two legislative sessions, I worked with Republicans and Democrats to craft bipartisan, fiscally responsible budgets that set the foundation for our thriving economy. And as you can see, the results...

  • I just can't kick the habit

    Pam Burke|Updated Mar 31, 2017

A common joke among horse people goes like this: If you want to keep your kids off drugs, get them hooked on horses, and they’ll never have money for anything else. Sure, we laugh — we laugh as hard as the average layperson about the exaggeration — but we know. Right? We know this is a truism disguised as a joke. You can hear it at the end of our laugh. There’s a catch in the voice, maybe a quiet sigh or a choked-off grunt. It’s the reality hitting home. And, yes, to be cle...

  • Practical Pastoring: Roles of Men and Women Part 1

    Updated Mar 31, 2017

When Pastor Dan stated that there is yet more the Holy Spirit has to teach the church, he was correct. We grow by revelation. Often Christians become stuck in a rut and receive no more revelation from the Holy Spirit. We are capable of becoming arrogant by believing that God loves our church group more than another group of believers. When the Holy Spirit teaches us a particular Bible truth, we are often quick to judge others who may have not yet received revelation on a particular topic. May God have mercy on us. I was on...

You know, Lord, a recently read Bible verse sure fit the MRI experience that recently took place. A.S.’s. graphic explanation of her MRI experience of the loud noises was certainly frustrating; more annoying than frightening. Her problem was the position her body had to be in. Just before putting everything in motion, the tech said, “You must lie still or that set of pictures will have to be repeated. Lie still, try to rest. I’ll wake you when it’s over.” She thought: “Are you kidding me? Sleep? Who can snooze with all th...
