    HELENA (AP) — Former Montana Sen. Conrad Burns, a former cattle auctioneer whose folksy demeanor and political acumen earned him three terms and the bitter disdain of his opponents, has died.   • Gun found near Box Elder school, schools closed

    Box Elder Public Schools have been closed today because a gun was found in the area of the school. Hill County Sheriff Don Brostrom said the gun was found "somewhere in the area of the school." Chippewa Cree Police, which patrol Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation, are looking into the matter, he said.     BOZEMAN (AP) - A Bozeman man pleaded guilty Tuesday to breaking into his former girlfriend's house in violation of a restraining order and fatally shooting the Chinook native as she tried to hide in her closet. Anthony Fagiano, 35, pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide, aggravated burglary, theft and violating an order of protection in the March 9 death of Darcy Buhmann, 37.     James W. White, born in 1995, has admitted to vandalizing business properties to the tune of more than $10,000 in Havre and Rudyard with a BB gun. He is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday at 1 p.m. in state District Court. Charging documents say the incidents, in which a collection of windows in the two towns were shot out, happened between October 2014 and January 2015.     Jerrid L. Sullivan is accused of touching a woman while she was asleep and then fighting with a man who told him to leave.
