    Richard Allen Nicholson of Havre, Montana, passed away peacefully and painlessly on May 31, 2015, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born to Harold Wayne Nicholson and Molly (Brazier) Nicholson on October 19, 1945, in Fairview, Montana, He was raised in Sidney, Laurel, Billings and Havre.     Salaries paid to Havre police lag behind other cities of similar size in the state, although the city’s crime rate is higher and the per capita income is greater. That’s according to a report prepared for City Council by police officer Brian Cassidy Monday night. Cassidy studied 11 cities with populations fewer than 10,000 people throughout Montana.     State Rep. Mike Lang, R-Malta, will run for the open Senate seat in his area in the 2016 elections. He will seek the seat being vacated by State Sen.     The Montana Actors' Theater KidsMAT youth camps have been bringing local children to the stage for almost 20 years and are now expanding across north-central Montana. "It's evolved as it's gone along," said Jay Pyette, the artistic director of MAT.     Unless there is a last-minute objection from somebody, a small portion of 20th Street will be abandoned and turned over to the Havre school district. The street is used by no one but school personnel and students, City Council members said Monday night.     HELENA (AP) — Companies must preserve video recorded at the time of a workplace accident, even if company officials previously concluded the footage is not relevant, the Montana Supreme Court said in a ruling granting a railroad machinist a new trial.
