Montana’s jobless rate went down to 3.9 percent in May, according to figures from the Montana Department of Labor and Industry. The nationwide jobless rate of 5.6 percent is a .1 percent increase over April. The state added about 1,500 jobs over the past month and nearly 12,000 over the past year. On the Hi-Line, the picture looked even better. The jobless rates declined in Hill, Blaine, Chouteau and Liberty counties.
