  • Rape defendant misses first court date

    A Plentywood man still has a warrant out on his arrest on $50,000 bond after law enforcement were unable to find him to bring him to his first appearance on a charge of rape. Kevin J. Kavon was charged May 20 with sexual intercourse without consent. He was not present at state District Court in Havre Monday for his arraignment, with attorneys saying officers have not been able to serve him with the arrest warrant.     The Great Northern Fair gets fully underway today. One of the highlights will be the pig-wrestling contest.     HELENA - The final day of the Randy Bachmeier v. Montana State University-Northern hearing wrapped up Tuesday with former provost Rosalyn Templeton's testimony. Bachmeier alleges sexual harassment from Templeton, but the former provost denied wrongdoing and said hugging and touching was a family tradition as a way of showing support.
