    After 21 years at its U.S. Highway 2 East location in Havre near Pacific Recycling, E-1 Towing & Auto Repair plans on moving to a new location. Ken Erickson, general manager of E-1 Towing, said he and his eight employees will be relocating from the nearly 10,000 square foot building they own at 1715 U.S Highway 2 East to the now-vacant building owned by Halliburton at 3815 Highway 2 East on the hill outside of town. “We’ve been looking for a place to move to better service our customers for a couple years now,” Erickson said....

  • Amber Alert canceled, missing Sheridan girl found

    Sandy Moore, a 16-year-old mentally delayed girl from Sheridan for whom an Amber Alert had been issued Wednesday was found safe in Casper Wyoming late Thursday.     Ambrose Mecklenburg was walking down the middle of Highway 191 wearing only underwear prior to his fatal confrontation with Deputy Alan Guderjahn July 27. Mecklenburg died when he was shot and killed by the deputy after Mecklenburg repeatedly stabbed Guderjahn, a release from the Phillips County Sheriff’s Department says.     Day 3 of the jury trial in which Havre resident Joseph E. “Jed” Damson is accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl with a developmental disability ended after the defense called its last witness, Damson. Damson is accused sexual assault. A previous charge of sexual intercourse without consent was dropped Monday. The girl testified Tuesday and said that in July 2014, Damson had gone under her clothes and touched her breasts and her private parts.     The proposed city charter for Havre will be on the ballot on Nov. 8. The Government Study Commission voted 2-0 Thursday night with Perry Attichson absent to put the proposed city manager form of government on the ballot that will be mailed out to voters on Oc.t 11.
