Motorcyclists from the Canadian Patriot Guard cross the viaduct in downtown Havre Monday as they escort the body of U.S. Army Pfc. Lawrence Gordon to the Port of Wild Horse on the Canadian border and on Medicine Hat, Alberta. Pfc. Gordon was killed in France during World War II. After 70 years, his remains have been identified, and he will be buried in Eastend Saskatchewan, on Wednesday. At its monthly meeting in Havre Monday, the H. Earl Clack Museum Board heard that work on the future home of the museum is progressing, but much more needs to be done. Manager reports also noted that attendance at the museum and at the Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump are up from last year. A man who fought with police attempting to arrest him in Havre - where he ended up after fleeing a Helena prerelease center - will spend four years in prison in addition to time for another sentence from Yellowstone County. The Big Sandy BBQ and Skate Jam Saturday brought Hi-Liners and visitors from farther away to the small town to watch skateboarders drop into the bowl. The bassist for Pearl Jam, Jeff Ament, is from Big Sandy and paid to have the skate park built in 2010. Since then, the skate jam has been held to raise money to expand the park, which consists of just the bowl as of yet. Montana State University-Northern head football coach Mark Samson has been placed on administrative leave with pay for undisclosed reasons.
