    Greg Kegel, the Dean of Technical Sciences at Montana State University-Northern, has been named interim chancellor of the college. According to a press release this morning from MSU, the decision to place Kegel in the temporary position was made this morning.     Meradel Marie Romain, 83, passed away on Aug, 24, 2014, in Phoenix. Meradel was born in 1931 to Alvin Wolf and Lottie Mae Donnell Wolf in Santa Clara, California, where she grew up. Lottie Mae divorced and later married Richard C Vaughan who adopted Meradel. She met John Romain at a USO event outside of Camp Roberts, California, and married him in December 1952.     A former law enforcement officer who absconded from an alleged rape changed his plea to a reduced charge in that case. Donald J. HasEagle, born in 1988, pleaded no contest in state District Court to a felony charge of aggravated assault. That charge was amended from sexual intercourse without consent.
