Under the most difficult of times, the tribe has managed to keep its culture alive and thriving. Tribal members are leaders in their own community and in the mainstream communities of Montana. • Payback Complete: Ponies roll Rangers

    Daniel Horton|Updated Sep 30, 2013

A slow start to a football game doesn’t always indicate an uphill battle for a team. In the sport of football, the necessary adjustments can make all the difference. And if the entire team can find a way to execute after those adjustments, the momentum can shift very quickly. The Havre High football team stole all momentum on Friday night as the Central A Blue Ponies hosted the conference rival Livingston Rangers at Blue Pony Stadium for homecoming. The Ponies defeated the R... Full story

  • HHS thrives at Prairie Farms

    George Ferguson|Updated Sep 30, 2013

The point of divisional golf tournaments is to get as many kids, or perhaps entire teams through to the state tourney. No matter how it gets done, no matter the scores, if you can get through, that’s all that matters. The Havre High golf teams accomplished that mission on a sunny, but windy Saturday at Prairie Farms Golf Course. The Blue Ponies got nine of 10 varsity golfers through to the Class A state tournament, with the Havre High girls capturing the Central A title in a... Full story

  • Skylights sweep, again

    George Ferguson|Updated Sep 30, 2013

Northern beat the Griffins by s... Full story

  • Ponies more focused on the run then revenge

    Daniel Horton|Updated Sep 30, 2013

Revenge, payback, vengeance, retribution, or whatever best describes a team turning the tables on a rival after a loss in the previous meeting is just a part of football. And coaches typically don’t use revenge as a preparation strategy, and it may never be clear just what kind of an impact that extra incentive has a game or team hungry for a win. And if there was ever a team hungry for a revenge win, it was the Havre High football team hosting the rival Livingston Rangers f... Full story

    Daniel Horton|Updated Sep 30, 2013

For the second straight match the Havre High volleyball team got off to a slow start, and for the second straight match the Blue Ponies were also unable to turn that slow start into a comeback win. And while the Ponies have without a doubt continuously gotten better since the beginning of the season, the young squad continues to struggle with consistency. Saturday at the Havre High gymnasi... Full story

    George Ferguson|Updated Sep 30, 2013

The Montana State University-Northern Lights and the UM-Western Bulldogs were both on a roll. Northern’s defense held the top rusher in the Frontier Conference, Western’s Sam Rutherford, to just 47 yards... Full story
