But Harris was back in his hometown Saturday speaking to a group at the Havre-Hill County Library about his first book, "I'll Spell It Out." He read the first chapter of his book, which tells a blood-curdling story about a murder. One of the police officers in the case got a...

The Walk is what they call it, and it’s always a special thing for the seniors of the Havre High football team. But the fact that the Blue Ponies got to take the walk right after winning their first conference championship in four years made this year’s version even more meaningful. Eleven football players participated in the walk following Havre’s 34-12 win over Lewistown Friday night at Blue Pony Stadium. And for the likes of Dane Warp, Nate Rismon, Logan Pleninger, Travi...

Life on the road in the Frontier Conference is never easy. And it was especially tough on the Montana State University-Northern volleyball team Saturday night. The Montana State University-Northern offense once again looked much improved in its latest game. And for a half, the Lights were right in their latest Frontier Conference battle. Unfortunately, the game was a full 60 minutes and in the end, the nationally ranked Montana Tech Orediggers were too much for the Lights. On Saturday in Butte, MSU-N fell to the No. 13 Orediggers 40-0, in spite of holding Tech to just 13 points in the first half and just two offensive touchdowns the...

  • Clean Sweep: Pony spikers down Conrad and Choteau

    Chris Peterson|Updated Oct 19, 2015

Havre High head volleyball coach Tamecia Jarvis has done a great job of challenging her team this season. And this weekend, she challenged the Blue Ponies to beat both of their non-conference opponents, and HHS rose to that challenge, sweeping both Conrad and Choteau. The impressive thing about the Ponies’ back-to-back wins at the HHS gymnasium Saturday is that neither the Cowgirls nor the Bulldogs managed to take away a single set from the Ponies, who improved their o...

    Chris Peterson|Updated Oct 19, 2015

Much like their season, the Havre Blue Ponies’ win over Lewistown wasn’t perfect. There were ups and downs. But in the end, the result was a victory and with it came Havre’s first conference title in football in four years.
