  • Power out in parts of Highland Park

    A power line was a down behind Wilson Avenue on Highland Park's western edge Sunday night. People in all parts of Havre reported seeing a bright light flash across the city. Power was out in the general area, and people in neighboring areas reported lights were flickering or were out for up to a minute. Hill County Sheriff's Deputies, Havre firefighters and NorthWestern Energy workers were on the scene. There were no indication when power would be back on.... Full story

    HELENA — Congressional candidate Ryan Zinke says he has distanced himself from the political action committee he helped launch now that he is running for office. Special Operations for America has stockpiled more than $200,000 for the 2014 election cycle, thanks in part to the fundraising it paid Zinke to do.   • Lights stunned by Tech's hail mary

    Saturday night was supposed to be a perfect ending to an amazing football doubleheader at Blue Pony Stadium. And it was...but for the visiting Montana Tech Orediggers, and not so much for the Montana State University-Northern Lights, as the Orediggers beat MSU-N 32-31, scoring on the final play of the game.   • Blue Ponies rally past Cowboys, move on in playoffs

    In what turned out to be a wild eight quarters of football Saturday at Blue Pony Stadium, the Havre High football team started things off with a bang. Trailing Miles City 21-7 at halftime of a Class A first-round playoff game Saturday afternoon, the Havre Blue Ponies stormed back to beat the Cowboys 21-20 and advance to the Class A quarterfinals. Dane Warp threw a short touchdown pass to Tristan Manuel with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter, putting the Ponies up by one.... Full story

  • Chinook captures 6C East crown

    The Chinook Sugarbeeters went undefeated in the District 6C East volleyball tournament, including beating the North Star Knights by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21 in Friday night's championship match in Gildford. The win vaults Chinook into next weekend's Northern C tournament, while the Knights punched their ticket to divisionals with a five-set win over third-place Big Sandy earlier on Friday.
