  • Veterans Day ceremonies slated in Havre

    Ceremonies honoring veterans will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Havre’s Town Square. There will be brief ceremonies and a 21-gun salute to deceased veterans, said Bill Bilger, the commander of Havre’s Veterans of Foreign Wars.     Havre police say people are getting phone calls from people claiming to be from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. They tell the victims they have a tax warrant filed against they. The scammers tell people they will be arrested unless they pay an amount to them via a wire transfer or a pre-loaded debit card.     A winter weather advisory has been issued for Havre and Chinook from 8 p.m. today to noon Tuesday. Rain and snow showers will occur this afternoon, turning to snow tonight.
