The Havre Blue Ponies took down the top three teams in Class AA this weekend, went unbeaten over two days, and captured the prestigious Mining City Duals title in Butte. Havre beat Bozeman in pool play Friday, and in Saturday's bracket format, HHS defeated defending AA champion Great Falls High 45-31. The Havre High girls basketball team bounced back from its season-opening loss at Malta by beating the CMR Rustlers 39-23 Saturday night at the HHS gymnasium. The Blue Pony boys fell at CMR, 67-39. Both HHS squads are home next weekend, hosting Central A rivals Belgrade and Livingston.
