Saturday night also saw the Montana State University-Northern men fall behind Carroll big early on, but come back to beat the Saints 68-61 in Helena. The win gave Northern its first road sweep of the year in the Frontier Conference, and helped MSU-N stay atop the Frontier standings at 9-3.
Carroll came into the contest 0-11 in conference play, but the Saints jumped out to a 10-2 lead. Northern managed to close the gap to two points at halftime, but the Lights never led until Alfie miller buried a 3-pointer with 14 minutes left. From there, the team's changed leads eight times, but MSU-N made big plays in the final two minutes, and also sank eight free throws down the stretch to pull away.
