The high school volleyball regular season is in the books on the Hi-Line.

Several area teams closed out the season early last week, then took the rest of the week as school was out for the Montana Education Association weekend.

Few scores were reported from last week but Chinook did close out the regular season with a District 6C East win over the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds. The Beeters defeated HLP by scores of 25-17, 25-3 and 25-17. Makhayla Farmer had 14 kills, seven aces and one block to lead the Beeters, while Madiscon McCann had eight kills and Paige Moxley added five. Mariah Swank totaled 11 assists in the win, while Moxley had six aces and McCann had five.

The Chester/J-I Hawks also ended the regular season with a win. Last Tuesday night, the Hawks beat rival Dutton-Brady in four sets. C/J-I won by scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-14 and 25-22.

Denerey Haaland had a match-high 14 kills for the Hawks, while Brittnee Theel had 18 digs and two blocks.

The District 6C East season ended with Big Sandy and North Star tied for the regular season title. The Pioneers beat the Knights twice this season, so they’ll be the No. 1 seed at the 6C tourney. Chinook finished third, with C/J-I fourth and HLP fifth.

The District 6C East tourney will run Thursday and Friday in Chinook. The top three teams will move on to the Northern C Divisional, which will take place Nov. 1-3 in Belt.

On the Class B side, Rocky Boy finished the regular season with a 2-12 record and winless in District 1B action. Harlem finished 0-12 overall and in last place in the 2B. Both the Morning Stars and Wildcats get a chance to start fresh this weekend as the 1B and 2B district tournaments. The top four teams from 1b and 2B move on to the Northern B Divisional tournament Nov. 1-3 in Malta.
