The NAIA basketball season is drawing to an end, and several Montana State University-Northern athletes earned an important honor.

On Monday afternoon, the NAIA released its list of Daktronics Scholar Athletes for the 2012-13 season and six MSU-N players made the cut.

The MSU-Northern women’s team had four players honored, including senior Nikki Tresch and sophomore point guard Taylor Cummings. Also making the list was Michaela Howe-Cobb and Leah Olson.

Two Lights were also named scholar athletes for the season. Junior Mike LaValley and junior Pat Jensen both were honored for their outstanding work in the classroom this season.

To be a Daktronics Scholar Athlete, a player must be a junior and also maintain at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
