The Montana State University-Northern rodeo teams began the fall season with a long trip to Cody, Wyo., last weekend.
The Lights and Skylights competed at rodeos in Cody which was the first of the fall Big Sky Region season.
In the first rodeo, the Lights placed fourth overall, while Robert Wagner was second in the saddle bronc riding. Charlie Mack finished fourth in the bareback competition and Phillip Sutherland was fourth in saddle bronc.
In the second performance, Mack placed second in the bull riding and third in the bareback.
The MSU-Northern rodeo teams, under new head coach Doug Kallenberger, will host the Northern Rodeo Friday-Sunday at the Great Northern Fairgrounds Arena.
The Northern Rodeo will feature a 7 p.m. performance on Friday, slack at 9 a.m. Saturday, a 5 p.m. performance on Saturday and a short go-around at 9 a.m. Sunday.
