Montana State University-Northern football fans far and wide will be able to see the Lights open their season Saturday against UM-Western live on the Internet.

And they'll be able to do it simply by visiting www.havredailynews.com.

The Havre Daily News has partnered with Lyon Productions as a place to view live webcasts of Lights' football this season. Lyon Productions has partnered with the entire Frontier Conference to show all league sporting events in live streaming video via the Internet in 2011-12. Those games will include all 10 Northern football games, as well as all of the Northern volleyball team's conference matches this fall. All Lights and Skylights Frontier Conference basketball games will also be streamed live on the Internet this winter.

The football games will be set up to be produced as close to a television broadcast as possible, according to Lyon Productions owner Marty Lyon. The games will feature multiple camera angles, full audio, replays and television time outs. The play-by-play announcer for Northern home games is longtime Havre native Barry Zanto and the crew for Northern home games will be composed of Northern students who are part of a work-study program.

The Havre Daily News will also be a part of the production. George Ferguson will join Zanto for a brief look at the Frontier Conference at halftime, and Northern fans can also see exclusive Havre Daily News post-game interviews on the Havre Daily News website following all Lights home games.

The first webcast of the 2011 season will start at 1 p. m. Saturday when the Lights take on UM-Western at Blue Pony Stadium in Havre.
