Friday, Aug. 18

Block Party at Havre-Hill County Library, 10 a.m. - noon. This summer-long weekly activity is a time for the kids to play with blocks, Legos and other fun activities. Free and open to the public.

Saturday, Aug. 19

Saturday Market, 8 a.m. - noon, Town Square.

Recycle Hi-Line recycling drive, accepting paper, cardboard, metal, some electronics, plastics and glass, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., Pacific Steel and Recycling. For info http://www.recyclehiline.org or call Sue at 265-5703.

Monday, Aug. 21

Solar Eclipse party, 10:30 - noon, Havre-Hill County Library. Solar eclipse glasses will be available, and they be serving light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Aug. 22

Havre Middle School registration, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., for all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students accompanied by a parent or guardian. A $6 fee will be charged for required supplies and ID. All students need to be current on immunizations. For info, call 395-8552.

Bullhook Blossoms Garden Club meeting, 2p.m., at the home of Norma Ralph. Guests are welcome. For info, call 265-2133.

Kicks @ 6, featuring Beach Boys and '60s songs, 6 p.m., Pepin Park gazebo. Free and people are welcome to bring a picnic supper.

Bears Paw Babes Chapter of the Red Hat Society meeting, 11:15 a.m., The Pro.

Solving Life's Problems of Aging with Mediation, 3 - 4 p.m., HRDC Building. Cost of this class is $20 and one can of food for the food bank. Call LaDawn Whiteside, 406-437-2090, for information.

Saturday, Aug. 26

Havre Trails Parker Canyon Hike, 8 a.m., meet at Bear Paw Lake in Beaver Creek Park for a short presentation by Chippewa Cree tribal elder, caravan to Parker Canyon trail head on Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation, 4-mile hike.

Havre Trails Summer Brewfest, 4-9 p.m., Pepin Park, featuring Montana brews and food, live music by the Nick Crawford Band and a demonstration by Hill County Homebrewers. Proceeds will go toward trail projects in Havre and the area.

Wednesday, Aug. 30

I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.

HPS Education Foundation hosting the annual HOLIDAY HOOPS Blue Pony alumni basketball games on Friday December 27th at the Havre Middle School. First game at 6:30pm. Players contact Tony at 390-6178 or Grayson at Master Sports. Fun for the whole family!
