    Havre Daily News initially was told the Eagle Creek Fire in the Bear Paw Mountains started on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation and reported that in multiple stories subsequent to the fire starting Sept. 7, including in a story about a Hill County Fire Council meeting that ran Friday. The fire actually started in the Edwards Cabin in Chouteau County, not on the reservation.... Full story

    A headline and story in Friday’s edition of Havre Daily News about a Hill County officials meeting misreported that Hill County Superintendent of Schools Vicki Proctor recommended capping school enrollment in county schools. Proctor only was referring to schools she supervises directly, rural schools without their own superintendent. More students are seeking to transfer to Hill County’s rural schools to seek smaller class sizes to recover from impacts of the pandemic. Proctor said the schools are full, and she... Full story

Tierra Sunchild was not arrested Tuesday but Ariel Sunchild was arrested Wednesday for obstructing a peace officer and on multiple misdemeanor warrants.... Full story
