Roe v. Wade anniversary no cause for celebration

Editor:

A sad anniversary has occurred, the 39th of Roe v. Wade. It requires tremendous imagination to comprehend the loss of 50 million-plus individuals.

That is more than the combined populations of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Boston and perhaps a couple more American cities. These losses have occurred in the United States. No doubt some of those terminated would have been contributing citizens, perhaps a Nobel laureate, the discoverer of a cure for all cancer, a community organizer who really gets it, and surely millions of just "good people."

It is my hope is that there is not another anniversary. My encouragement is that there is an absence any significant celebration of this date and that many who have been involved have repudiated their previous actions.
