A community update on Seth Ironchild

Seth Ironchild poses with teachers and staff at Harlem Elementary School who shaved their heeds as part of a fundraiser for the now 6-year-old kindergartner.

(Harlem Elementary School kindergartner Seth Ironchild's condition has been a concern for people on the Hi-Line ever since he was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year. Seth's father, Marcel Ironchild, provides an update on his condition.)

Seth completed five different types of therapies at St. Luke's Rehabilitation center in Spokane, Wash., on March 22.

And then returned home. He enrolled back into school April 8 and is allowed to be in school for an hour and half on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays under doctor's orders.

He then returned to Spokane April 22-27 for an MRI and CAT scan. The diagnosis is "L Basil Ganglia Tumor" — they got 90 percent of it out. He returns to rehab appointments for in-patient rehab in Seattle on June 5 to see how far his handicap position is.

He will go back to Spokane on July 8-10 to start radiation.

He still has a ways to go to continue to beat the brain tumor. Hopefully, the treatments work right away to fight off the other 10 percent that is trying to grow.

I would like to thank everybody for all the support and prayers. Please continue to keep Seth in your prayers.

God bless.
