Hell Freeze hockey tourney a big hit

This past weekend, the Havre Ice Dome played host to the 3rd Annual Hi-Line Hell Freeze Adult Hockey Tournament. The event kicked off Friday night with all teams in action and many fans in attendance. It wrapped up Sunday afternoon with the two championship games.

In the end, the Helena Caps took first place in the Speed Division, defeating the Havre River Rats 2- 1 in overtime. The Recreation Division was won by the Bozeman Flying Zams, who beat the Lewistown Snowholes 3-1 in the championship game.

Thanks go out to all of the volunteer help, the fans who came out to support the event, the teams that came up to play and all the businesses that helped make the tournament happen. A special thanks goes out to Whalen Tire for coming in late Saturday night to repair a Zamboni tire. Without your help, the tournament would not have been able to go on.

Havre's Adult Hockey Program is continually growing, with over 80 players already involved in two leagues. Anyone, men and women, in the community who are interested in a fun winter time activity shouldsend and email [email protected].
