Havre man charged with rape

A Havre man faces a felony rape charge stemming from accusations he forced a woman to have sex with him in ways she had refused to do and refused to let her leave despite her telling him to stop and trying to leave.

Donald J. Haseagle, age and residence not available, is scheduled for arraignment June 24.

According to the charging documents, Havre police officers responded to a call made at 3:22 a.m. April 14 in which a woman reported another woman had been raped.

An officer found the alleged victim sitting on the edge of a bed, with her knees drawn up to her chest and crying, the document said.

The woman told the officer that she had been at a Havre residence drinking, and eventually went into a bedroom with Haseagle, and they began to have sex, to which she consented.

Haseagle told her he wanted to have sex in ways which she did not feel comfortable.

Despite her telling him to stop, he began to have sex with the woman in ways which she did not feel comfortable, and would not let her leave. She called out for help, but everyone else had left the residence, she said.
