Court Report: Havre City Court for March

The following cases were resolved by Havre City Judge Margaret A. Hencz in March.

Kermit Charles Snow was fined $300 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, 89 days suspended and one credited, after pleading no contest to reckless driving, first offense, amended from driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense.

Joseph Wallace Johnson was fined $50 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, nine days suspended and one credited, for disorderly conduct.

Wilford Harlan Sunchild was fined $250 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, two days credited, for owner permitting operation of vehicle without liability insurance, third or subsequent offense. In a later case, Sunchild was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 160 days suspended and two credited, for failing to carry proof of vehicle insurance, third or subsequent offense. In another case, Sunchild was fined $100 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 160 days suspended and two credited, for theft, obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over property, first offense.

Trevor Norman Dees was fined $100 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, all days suspended, after pleading no contest to criminal possession of marijuana, 60 grams or less, first offense; was fined $100 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, all days suspended, after pleading no contest to criminal possession of drug paraphernalia; was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 177 days suspended and three credited, after pleading no contest to DUI, first offense; and was fined $200 and sentenced to 20 days in jail, all days suspended, after pleading no contest to failing to stop and identify self after striking an unattended vehicle.

Crystal Leeann Dubray was fined $1,500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 150 days suspended and seven credited, for theft, obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over property, third or subsequent offense.

Christopher Douglas Freeto was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 178 days suspended and two credited, after pleading no contest to driving while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked and was fined $250 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, 88 days suspended and two credited, for reckless driving, amended from DUI, second offense.

Justin James Martin was fined $100 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, three days suspended and seven days credited, for disorderly conduct, amended from partner or family member assault, second offense.

Kevin Thomas Velk was fined $925 and sentenced to 365 days in jail, 364 days suspended and one credited, after pleading no contest to negligent endangerment, amended from aggravated DUI.

Daniel Joseph Danielson was fined $1,000 and sentenced to 365 days in jail, 360 days suspended, after pleading no contest to operating a vehicle with .08 percent blood alcohol concentration or greater, second offense, amended from DUI, second offense.

Kevin Dean Trumble was sentenced to 365 days in jail, 335 days suspended and 30 credited, for partner or family member assault, first offense.

Daniel Christopher Zufall was fined $100 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, five days suspended and five credited, after pleading no contest to disorderly conduct.

Matthew Lynn Haney was fined $100 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, all days suspended, after pleading no contest to disorderly conduct, amended from assault.

Wayne Howard Maxwell was fined $350 after pleading no contest to operating a vehicle with .08 percent BAC or greater, first offense, amended from DUI, first offense.

Aaron Robert Wienke was sentenced to 180 days in jail, 100 days suspended and 80 credited, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

In a later case, Allen was fined $100 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 175 days suspended and two credited, for obstructing a peace officer or other public servant.

Sage James Bluehorse was fined $200 for failing to notify owner after an accident resulting in damage to property or fixtures along highway.

Also in March, Judge Hencz also dealt with 24 tickets resulting in fines of less than $100 or jail sentences of fewer than seven days, as well as 27 charges that were dismissed by her or the prosecution and five that were transfered to another court.
