Gloria B. Hasler

Gloria B. Hasler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to many, passed away on Aug. 24, 2013, due to complications from chemotherapy treatment. She was 65.

Gloria was born on Oct. 29, 1947, to William and Elsa (Beyl) Bieber of Townsend, Mont. She was the 10th child of 14, born to William and Elsa. As many born during this time, Gloria was raised on the family farm in Broadwater County, Mont. Gloria had a passion for hard work and the rural Montana lifestyle. The family raised livestock and poultry, farmed and gardened to pay the bills and support the family.Gloria carried this passion of hard work till the day she went to be with the Lord.

Gloria received her education and schooling in Townsend and graduated high school in 1965. After graduation she moved to the Seattle area; however, after a couple of years she returned to Helena to be closer to home. It was at this time that she met John C. Hasler and on Oct. 30, 1971, the two were wed. For 42 years she stayed by his side.

John and Gloria raised four children and moved from Helena to Havre and finally settled in Malta in 2004. Gloria had a love for the outdoors. Her most cherished times were those spent camping, hunting, fishing and most importantly with her family by her side during these adventures.

Gloria worked as a billing specialist throughout her life. She was currently employed by Equity Co-op in Malta, Mont.

She is survived by her husband John C. Hasler of Malta; daughters, Ginetta (Trent) Frost of Bozeman, Lorrie (AJ) Keller of Havre and April (Dan) Ritchey of Malta; daughter-in law Stacey Elliot of Chinook; brothers, Billy (Betty) Bieber of Minnesota, Dennis Bieber of Townsend and Tim (Kim) Bieber of East Helena; sisters, Irene (Allen) Brug of Idaho, Mardella (Bruce) Brock of Bozeman, Elaine Lucas of East Helena, Arlene (Rick) Rader of Florida and Carynn (Phillip) Lemieux of Helena. She and John have eleven grandchildren.

Gloria will now be reunited with her son John Colin Hasler who passed away in 2008, her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will take place at the Malta Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. Interment of her ashes will take place at a later date.
