Preservation ornament sales pick up after Festival Days

The Havre-Hill County Historic Preservation Commission said that sales of its latest historical Christmas ornament will pick up again after the annual Festival Days event.

The ornament, a pewter depiction of the historic St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on the corner of 3rd Ave. and 6th St., is for sale at the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce office at 130 5th Ave. As the office is closed on weekends, the normal kick-off for the sale of the ornaments, sales will resume after the celebration.

The Preservation Commission began selling limited-edition ornaments depicting historical buildings in the area three years ago, with the proceeds going toward its efforts for historic preservation in the city and county. The St. Mark’s ornament sells for $20.

The commission began selling the ornaments earlier than usual this year due to high demand from members of the St. Mark’s congregation.
