The Havre High volleyball team was in desperate need of wins heading into its matches with Laurel and Hardin last Saturday. And with some offensive power from Blue Pony senior Lacey Waid, the Ponies got two victories. Waid totaled seven kills against Laurel and seven against Hardin last Saturday, in helping the Ponies sweep both opponents. She also played solid defense and served tough as well.

Waid is also a standout basketball player and pole vaulter at Havre.

The North Star Knights have had a strong start to the football season. And a rousing 59-12 win Saturday night in Big Sandy put the exclamation point on that start. In the win, North Star senior Cooper Spicher broke the 200-yard rushing mark, scoring on runs of 3, 16, 10, 40 and 70 yards. Spicher has been a valuable leader for the unbeaten Knights this season.

Spicher is also a valuable player for the Knights in basketball and track and field.
