NorthWestern Energy thanks public servants

On Sept. 19, a NorthWestern Energy pole carrying a 69-kilovolt line and smaller distribution lines burned just outside the company’s substation in Zurich, between Chinook and Harlem. As a result, our lines were hanging low over U.S. Highway 2 and the BNSF tracks, posing a hazard to highway and railroad users. NorthWestern had two crews on the scene for more than nine hours, working to make repairs.

NorthWestern Energy would like to thank the Harlem Fire Department, the Blaine County Sheriff’s Department, the Montana Highway Patrol and the Montana Department of Transportation for their help in managing and rerouting traffic while our crews replaced the burned pole and reinstalled the power lines. We greatly appreciate the assistance of the local and state agencies. We couldn’t have handled the work safely and efficiently without them.
