Havre man killed in early morning crash

A Havre man died this morning on the scene of a crash a few miles east of town, the Montana Highway Patrol reported.

The name of the victim had not been released this morning.

The crash report says the 29-year-old Havre man was westbound on a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway access road at 3:30 this morning when the Isuzu Rodeo he was driving drifted off the road and entered into the ditch on the north side of U.S. Highway 2.

The vehicle vaulted off of a private approach road accessing the highway and the Isuzu then rolled, the report says.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not ejected, but was pronounced dead on the scene.

Whether alcohol or speed were a factor in the crash is unknown, the report says.
