This image, taken from security camera footage at Crystal City Casino, shows the suspect of a robbery early Thursday in Havre.

Crystal City Casino, which is connected to the Atrium Mall in downtown Havre, was robbed early Thursday morning.

Not much information about the details of the robbery was released by the Havre Police Department.

At 12:24 a.m. Thursday, officers received a call about a robbery in progress from the casino, according to the dispatch log for that day.

Police were still looking for the suspect as of Thursday, and the police department sent out a press release asking for help from the community.

"The Havre Police Department is looking for any information identifying the suspect. ... The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash," the press release says.

Police have not said what weapon was used in the robbery.

Included with the release was a photo from security camera footage from the morning of the robbery.

Police ask people to contact the Havre Police Department at 265-4361 of the Havre/Hill County Crime Stoppers Line at 265-4444 with any information.

The last casino robbery in Havre was Oct. 19, 2010, when Magic Diamond Casino on U.S. Highway 2 was robbed.

Merrill Gray, of Havre, was sentenced to two years in prison and probation for that crime.

I do think Havre daily news needs to cover more stories of crime that is happening in this town. There is a lot more going on then the community knows. The story is about a casino robbery that is similar to one we had a couple years ago. Casino, robbery, and around this time of year. Why would you not write or mention it.

They will bring that up the will not mention when a prominent local businees person from Bear Paw Development has son get in trouble they do not mention his name. Beacause he is prominent.

HavreDaily writes:

Readers have already asked us about the last casino robbery in town. it seemed like a natural thing to include in the story. So we told about the robbery and the outcome of the case.

Can you tell me why it was necessary to mention Merrill in this article? What happened 3 years ago has no relevance to this article. Of course this is just another example of the poor journalism that comes from your office. Oh, and I'm sure you won't answer my question will you?
